2017 Sagrantino   

Sagrantino is the rare wine from Nello's ancestral home.

Ruby red, dry, full body, high acidity and tannins. Give it a long decant.

Densely rich with earth-fruit flavors of black cherry, strawberry, blueberry, rose, black pepper, oak, nutmeg, some menthol.

PAIR with rich, fatty dishes, earthy saugages, mushrooms, wild game, braised meats, aged cheeses.

In Italy’s Umbria region lies the village of Todi—Nello’s ancestral home. Here thrives the rare Sagrantino grape, higher in antioxidants than any other. This same strain of Sagrantino has thrived in Nello’s vineyard since its 2009 grafting. Its wine carries a high tannic structure similar to that of pure cocoa.
