Viognier

Our estate Viognier, a classy crisp, less buttery alternative to Chardonnay. Straw yellow in color. Full body and dry with medium acidity. Aromatic and fresh, brings to the nose and the palate: orange blossom, mandarin, apricot and mango with honeyed stone fruit on the finish. After almost going extinct in the 1960s, Viognier now grows throughout the wine world and has thrived in Nello’s Gold-country vineyard since 2001. Due to its dense body, Viognier (“vee-own-yay”) has been referred to as "the red-wine-lover’s white" and has been known in Italy to be added to bolster red wines. PAIR with foods that are not acidic or too bold. Light meats, seafood, light savory dishes, light herbs, salads with fruit and nuts, soft cheeses.
